Acer has announced 3 new additions to its Iconia range of tablets at the IFA 2014 show in Berlin. The new lineup includes a couple of Android tablets and one running Windows. Let’s take a look.
Iconia Tab 8 W
The Iconia Tab 8 W is an 8″ tablet running Windows 8.1. Thanks to Intel’s Bay Trail Atom Z3735G quad core CPU, it can run full Windows despite its near pocket friendly size. The screen is 1280 x 800 with an IPS panel and the 8 W’s battery gives 8 hours of work time. Uniquely for its price point is front and rear cameras. There is also an optional full-size keyboard.
The Iconia Tab W 8 will come in at an ultra-low $149 in November. That includes one year of Office 365.
Joining the Tab 8 W in the 8″ market is the Iconia One running Android 4.4 Kit Kat. The Iconia One features the same 1280 x 800 screen and Intel Atom Quad-Core CPU as its Windows brethren. However, its case features an insane ten different color combinations. If you ever wanted your tablet in a specific color, the One is more than likely to have something close. The casing itself is only 0.3″ thin and weighs under 3/4 of a pound. It also has an anti-slip texture to keep it in your hands.
The Iconia One will hit store shelves in Europe this October. No word on Availability in North America.
Iconia Tab 10
We’ve saved the biggest for last. The Iconia Tab features a 10.1 Full HD screen with IPS technology. The tablet features a quad core processor from MediaTek. The tablet also features Cinema sound which offers better sound via the two internal speakers. The Tab 10 also features 5.1 Dolby digital surround sound via headphones. Finally, it features a Micro-HDMI out port for connecting to a large screen TV as well as wireless display technology.
The Tab 10 will ship in September for $199.
