Restock the Cupboards in Seconds – Amazon Has New Way to Search and Shop for Everyday Essentials at Home on an iPhone
Amazon app for iPhone now incorporates Flow – makes reordering packaged goods a breeze
Feb 5,2014 – For those moments when you realize you just grabbed the last pack of baby wipes… For those moments when you start hitting the bottom of the detergent to wash one more load of dishes … For those moments when you grab the last garbage bag from the box… Amazon introduces a faster way to search and shop at home using an iPhone camera.
Today, Amazon adds Flow to the Amazon app for iPhone. Flow is a way to search for products without typing, scanning a barcode or taking a photo. It allows customers to simply move their iPhone camera over multiple items while standing in their kitchen, bathroom or laundry room, identifying and purchasing most of their shopping list in seconds. Flow helps mobile shoppers refill products like shampoo, deodorant, protein powder, granola bars, detergent and more.
“Flow instantly matches products in your home to items on Amazon.” said Sam Hall, Vice President of Amazon Mobile, “Once you have added that box of garbage bags or baby wipes, just keep moving your phone over other packaged goods you need to restock and the Amazon app recognizes the product and saves it into your search history. You can search items lined up on the counter, stored on a shelf, or pick them out of a cupboard, taking care of your shopping needs in seconds.”
Using Flow is easy. With it, customers can stock-up, manage their wish lists and make smart, fast shopping decisions. Products are saved in the shopper’s search history where they can add them to the shopping cart or save them for later. Amazon’s goal is to give customers the ability to go from ‘I need that’ to ‘I bought that’ in under 30 seconds.
The Amazon app allows shoppers to read reviews, access wish lists, review their existing cart, as well as shop the hottest deals. Customers also have the option to keep up with the latest deals by opting in to receive push notifications. Amazon customers enjoy full access to their existing payment and Amazon Prime member shipping options, order history and 1-Click settings.
