    Hello, again,

I’ve been a fan since around Episode #13. However, it took me a month to figure out why iTunes stopped updating the podcast.

I was happy to donate then, I’m honored still to donate to your equipment fund.

    Best wishes with “The Beat”.

Hey Cali what happened to geekbrief?? I have been working alot and havent had time to watch in a long while… P.S. I love what you do!

  5. Mike Pilcher says:

The Episode that Cali covers the new Kindle seems to have a problem. About 2min 30 sec into the episode where Cali talks about Google earth, the audio and video freeze. So the last couple of minutes we see Cali against the Earth backdrop looking like she is about to give someone a hug.

+1 on the video freeze issue (vlc, xp sp3, dell inspiron 9300 yada yada yada…)

@Justin – You can see the final episode of Geek Brief here – http://calilewis.me/finalbrief

But the place to subscribe to now is here! http://www.geekbeat.tv/subscribe :)

Christian and Mike, that has been fixed. Sorry about the issues!

    Hello!

I have newly bought a Sony TV and to my joy I found out that the TV supported podcast from Geekbrief.tv. But since geekbrief.tv no longer exist I would be delighted if it would be possible to follow your geekbeat.tv instead in the content of Sony internet TV.

I have sent an email to Sony about this to but I’m afraid that it will be lost somewhere in the big company.

  10. I found something much better than a Drobo. Check out the NAS appliances from QNAP, the feature list on even their most basic units is basically a listing of every protocol, transport, standard, technology or acronym in the industry, these things do everything. I looked at a Drobo FS (not the pro) and was not totally thrilled. I just ordered the QNAP TS-419P and I’ll let you know how it is. But you should check one out, especially if you liked the synchronized backup feature on the new Drobo. Go to http://www.qnap.com

    Watch CALI LEWIS in HD!

How? If you have the Western Digital devices WDTV-LIVE/Live Plus or WDTV LIVE Media HUB, you can get an iphone app to watch new Internet material through them and in HD on your HD TV :)

I found it a while back.. available through the APP Store on Itunes…. called ZAPPO TV. Install it on your iphone or ipod touch and you can control these devices so you can watch GeekBeat TV in HD. It took a bit of writing back and forth between the Zappo TV people and me, because although they had links for various shows on REVISION 3 network, they didn’t have GeakBeat.TV… they had left it out due to confusion with GEEK ENTERTAINMENT TV (I different show).

Find it, Install it and you’ll never go back to watching CAli on your iphone! Oh, and it lets you know when a new episode(S) have been posted! So you’ll never have to go back to watching it on your iphone unless you want to take it on your travels.

    Thanks

  15. I’m sorry to leave this like this. I have worked in the industry since 1971. I have friends like Mr. Jobs….Mr…Gates. I have worked on Apple i’s … Sun’s original ‘micro’ computers running Unix. Enough about me….I think you guys have gone too commercial. I loved watching your shows since the beginning. Now, I don’t think I’ll watch anymore. It seems like every website you mention, or link you mention wants a fee. That was not the spirit of the original Arpanet…or internet as you know it. I was watching you guys up until this episode. I actually entered some of the URLs that you mention. Fees required. Even if you so lightheartedly told people to go there. What is the deal…advertising all the way??? It certainly seems it. What happend to Open Source? It’s still there. Can’t you mention that with as much regularity as paid stuff?

    I’m disappointed.

    SJ probably is too.

Considering the date, I really hope you still glance at these comments. I love the show…been watching you since your grilled cheese episodes and ramen noodle diets. Anyway, sorry to hear that Revision3 is cutting out WMV and other formats. Now you just freeze on my TV. I have two Apple TV’s (Gen 1) – 40GB and 130GB. I can stream, store, and subscribe on these without the new bells & whistles. Just fine with me. Everything ready and waiting when I get home. So, I can’t see going between my desktop and television to view 5-60 minute shows (GeekBeat, Tekzilla, and Diggnation). And spending just to have the latest hotness is out of the question.

    Best of luck.

  24. Rick Eanes says:

I don’t understand WHY you guys are so timid in mentioning anything Apple? In the Kindle Fire video you were practically apologetic for mentioning iPod, iPad or the iPhone. I’ve been watching GeekBrief and GeekBeat for years now, but I’m very uncomfortable with all the manufactured emphasis on “anything but Apple” attitude. It’s so apparent when you discuss tablets. The vid critiquing the Kindle Fire was spot on, but what did you offer as an alternative? The Galaxy Tab!? Not exactly a pioneer or leader in tablets in America, eh? Absolutely NO mention or even a comparison to the iPad. This type of exclusion shows your reviews to be limiting and worse, biased. If these other companies are paying you to promote their wares to the exclusion of Apple products, then by all means say so. Honesty still counts for something in this world.

I also know you have a lot of Apple-hating Android/Google/Samsung fan boys watching your program, but don’t you think we should be giving credit where it’s due? If the tables were turned and Apple was bringing secondary products to the market, I don’t think you would being giving them nearly as much play.

As it is, Apple has been the greatest innovator of MP3 players, tablets, smart phones and computer operating systems in American during the past 11 years. They are the high water mark you SHOULD be comparing everyone else to. Instead of “anything else but Apple” the attitude should be “Why should we consider you instead of Apple?”

    • Rick Eanes says:

The video I mention in the second sentence should have been the Sol Republic Headphones video, not the Kindle Fire vid.

  25. Great Stuff, do you have a flickr profile?
