Fishfinders are nothing new, but bringing fishing hole sonar pings to your phone or tablet is. The Deeper Smart Fishfinder is a little sphere about the size of a fishing bob. Toss it in the water and it will send back sonar information about what it’s hearing, including bottom depth and characteristics, and locations and depth of fish. Maximum depth range is 130 feet (40 meters).

The Deeper device runs on a lithium polymer battery that can provide 6 hours of continuous use, and it reports back to an app on your phone or tablet via Bluetooth up to a 160 foot (50 meter) range. Deeper is compatible with Android 2.2 and higher and all versions of iOS 4 and 5.

Deeper is currently a project on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo, with a price of $169, including shipping. the price is scheduled to go up to $199 in September after official release.
