But keep in mind that in order to get an actual Google+ desktop application, Google has to release the API so that developers can integrate support into other services (Hootsuite, TweetDeck, etc).
In the meantime and since I don’t want to wait, I created a stand alone Google+ application and I figured I’d share it in case you wanted one too.
Download the Google+ Desktop App
Now you have a couple of options:
- You can download the one that I already created. Get the Google+ Desktop Application for Mac here.
Unzip it, and drop it in your Applications folder.
- You can download and install Fluid for Mac. Download a cool icon to use for the app. Then, spend the time to create your own standalone Google+ Desktop application.
Either way, enjoy your spiffy new standalone Google+ Desktop Application.
If you’re a Windows user, don’t worry! We’ll put out a separate blog post with a Windows application for Google+ soon.
