China’s solar power specialists, the Shenzhen Duolilong Industrial Co, have a long list of specialized solar powered projects under their belts. Their newest is a solar powered bicycle bag equipped with 8.27″ x 2.76″ solar panels and a portable “power box” that will keep all your gizmos and gadgets powered on the go.
The power box supplies voltages ranging from 3.7v-4.2v:5V-9V. The bag comes with a connector cord for the box, a cigarette lighter style car charger, and a cord to connect your devices to the box; they list various mobile phones, iPods, GPS units, etc, and the appropriate adapters to aid with the connections.
The bag itself has two main compartments and a variety of smaller compartments for handling more mundane cargo like wallets, change, etc, and it’s equipped with a shoulder strap should you decide you feel like hiking more than biking.
So tell us readers, what do you think? Would something like this convince you to bike around a bit more, knowing you could keep your devices charged on the go?

Very COOL!!! Several friends are now riding bicycles again, guess what Santa will bring to their trees this year. With Bluetooth headsets, this new high tech bike pack will be complete. I should be riding myself, but……… “B”
I’m already planning on take my bike more often. This seems fantastic. Plus I could take it off my bike and take it into my office where I could continue to charge stuff on my big picturesque window.
I pray I never have to downgrade to a cube.
Put a Topeak MTX-compatible rail on the bottom, and I’ll certainly be interested. This is just the ticket for keeping the iPhone from dying while running one of those power-gobbling “Hey, honey, this is where I am so don’t worry” GPS sharing applications.
Finaly they made it….i was waiting for this sort of gear as i like biking with my gadgets / Phones / cameras…etc…
Would be great to see it beeing integrated into common Bike Rucksacks so you dont have to carry another bag around . Maybe it wont make me more biking but probably less waiting for my gears to charge
While I think it is a bit too big to carry while on my mountain bike I too would like to see something to attach it to my bike somewhere. I need to get back into Bicycling again it is so much fun.
Way to go Calli! Anything BICYCLE gets my attention!
Have been meaning to pick up one of the solar chargers from the apple store to hang from my back pack for just this purpose… Judging by the size of those cells, I would assume one could expect to have more than enough charging power available for multiple devices. Not sure if the manufacture might have thought of this… how ’bout adding one of those wheel mounted generators as a plug-in accessory for juicing up your rechargeable electronics on those less than sunny days! Sure it might add some drag, but just think of it as adding some resistance training to your bike workout!!!
