I don’t like the random ads in the middle of the show. GeekBrief was good with ads, leaving them at the end.
I love the new format, it’s like you’re floating on a platform. As always, you energy is great and your enthusiasm infectious
Like the new show but the energy is a bit different/off.
Seem like you are ‘sexing’ it up a little – I think the happy shiney route worked better.
I like the new format, layout, and energy. The ads don’t bother me in the middle and I hope you’re able to charge a higher rate for that placement! I never mind ads that are for products that might interest me.
It does appear like the iTunes podcast has more artifacts in its encoding than the old show. It doesn’t really matter, just something I noticed.
Hope all is going great!
The laser was developed by Raytheon, not Raython. The name comes from “Ray” for beam of light and “Theon” which come from the Greek work meaning come from the Gods. Just a bit of useless trivia for you
I’m still waiting for links to the items you cover. Are they on the way or am I missing something. It was also nice to have a link to the equipment you used to produce the show, will that be included here.
Optimus Prime has never looked so good. Oh, wait I was watching tech show wasn’t I? Umm, PogoPlug caught my attention, may trade & sell some stuff for that puppy.
THe editing on this one was a little off. During the intro to the 3D stuff, the audio and video got off by a second, or so….bugs me when mouth moves different than words. Other than that, really like the new digs, and the content seems a bit more varied. GOOD JOB!
Sorry, Cali, but this new format just doesn’t work for me. Too much panning, zooming, dancing and arm waving. Please go back to your old format. It required far less Dramamine.
Yes the new format is terrific. The panning & zooming is reminiscent of 60s, 70s TV & movies, I really LOVE it!!! Maybe now & then, try sitting on a stool, incorporating left, right & center one shot profile cuts (but not close-ups). A sitting position will give you a more personnel take on you, the products you review, their advertising & manufactures. Other wise great show as always, the more customizable HD is really cute, I may just try it… “B”
Still wanting to get your HD podcast onto my iPhone 4. It worked before when you were doing Geekbrief. Can anything be done? I’m not sure, but I think its the bitrate. Its a bit too high.
The new format works quite well with your on-the-air personality and journalism style. You seem less encumbered on GeakBeat and the video podcast seems to have a 1960′s “Batman” kind of look to it. ^..^`
I have to agree (or is that disagree) with the others here. I love the pans and zooms… very cool! But I preferred your demeanor back on GeekBrief. You seemed more sincere and believable. I still love you and will continue to watch though!! I hope you’ll continue to tweak the format until you find your sweet spot!! Keep it up!!
Cali,
I would urge you to take a look at the PogoPlug “Biz” and do another clip. After waiting forever for my pre-order I received my Biz unit and WOW! What a SCAM!. $300 for some crap features that were horribly implemented by what I can only assume was a high school first year HTML student. The “changes” you can make are VERY limited and the ugly pink pogo logo and colors scheme show up everywhere. It’s 2010 Pogo – get a real interface.
Oh yeah, I RMA’d mine and they refunded me $99 for my $299 purchase. I emailed the CEO. We’ll see if he is any better than the other morons that work there.
