UPDATE: After a trip to my local Target, it seems there are more strings attached and a change to the posted rules. The offer is actually for $200 toward a new iPad Air (see screenshot below of updated rules), although a number of people are apparently getting gift cards with no strings attached. It sounds like some unclear communication to the stores, resulting in varying deals depending on where you go. Still a good deal if you’re planning on getting an iPad Air.
With the holidays racing toward us, most people are beginning to jingle the change in their pockets and consider ways to make their money stretch further than usual for the next two months. If you’ve got an old iPad (even a first generation one), Target may well be the place to head.
The retailer is offering a minimum of $200 in store credit for any iPad that does not have a scratched screen and will power on. That’s more than you’ll get for the original Apple tablet just about anywhere else. So if you’ve got one of these aging iPads, this might be the time to trade it in for something a little more useful.
You’ll want to move on this deal quickly, because it’s only valid through November 9th – you can trade in other electronics as well, but the iPad is the real attention getter. You’ll need to do this at a Target Store with a Target Mobility department, and you can determine where your nearest one is at this store locator.
