Researchers at the University of Tokyo are working on Life Beans. They’re an implantable device that glows stronger or weaker depending on your blood sugar level. This research, 5 to 10 years away will help diabetics not have to prick themselves daily to do testing.

This looks really great, science is proceeding by leaps & bounds in the approach to curing all forms of diabetes. I am VERY impressed with this. But I need something to help my sister put her ‘type 2 diabetes’ affliction in check. She has this dreaded diseases, but drinks beer like an it’s going out of style, I don’t think she’s aware of the long term effects. Anyone out there know how we can clamp down on her??? “B”
On a related topic I came across the Bayer Contour USB meter (http://www.bayercontourusb.co.uk/) and the Bayer’s DIDGETâ„¢ Meter for Nintendo DS (http://www.bayerdiabetes.co.uk/sections/productsformydiabetes/meters/didget/overview) both available in the UK. I hope to get the Contour.
