LeviSync for iPad Review

Need a place to keep your iPad close at hand, even “levitating” next to your iMac or Cinema Display? The LeviSync is a simple, yet brilliant, product that answers this need. It’s an arm that attaches to your display, holding your iPad where you can use it as a second (or third, or fourth) screen. What makes the LeviSync stand out from other options is that it charges your tablet without your having to run a separate cable, and that it works as a 4-port USB hub, letting you charge other devices.

The design and color scheme fit well with the looks of an Apple iMac or Cinema Display. Two USB cables run back to the computer, one for charging the iPad being held on the arm, one to run the hub. It even has an audio out port that allows you to pipe audio from your iPad to headphones or an external speaker.

One thing to keep in mind is that the LeviSynch uses a 30-pin connector, making it compatible with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation iPads, but not the newest one (which has the new Lightning connector).

It’s a great device, incorporating your iPad into your desktop computer activities. Normal retail is $179, but for GeekBeat viewers, the nice folks at LeviSync have set you a special price of $149 through the holidays if you use the link levisync.com/geekbeat.
