Would an iPhone case the shape and size of a lobster discourage you from using your phone so much? Or would it drive you to find all new excuses to brandish it publicly, demonstrating your shellfish chic? Although the designer hopes for the former, the staff and friends of Livid Lobster might go with the latter.
The case is the work of designer Elliot Gorham at his site, Noddy Boffin. Gorham was inspired by a Salvador Dali design for a lobster-styled phone, while continuing a theme of designs that discourage technology addiction.
Gorham describes his creation:
“Unlike the typical phone case, it doesn’t offer functionality of protection and style. Its features include; camera incapability, ergonomically awkward, too big for your pocket or handbag and most importantly, it’s ability to cause its users embarrassment.”
Of course, one user’s source of embarrassment is another’s fount of undying pride.
