UPDATE: NEED FOR DALLAS TECH REVIEWERS
July 7, 2011
If your dream is to get to play with all kinds of gadgets and new technology, here’s your chance! We’re looking for bloggers in the Dallas area to join the Livid Lobster team. Why only Dallas? Well… we get SO many products in for review that it’s difficult for us to get through them all. I mean…we have stacks of stuff! We want your help – you’ll come into the studio (in Addison), hang out with me and the team, test the products out and write up reviews. And maybe shoot some video reviews as well!
Please follow the directions below if you’re interested in joining the team! If you’ve previously submitted, please do so again since we’re looking specifically for Dallas at the moment. Looking forward to hearing from you!
end of update
I’m looking for some people who would like to be on the GeekBeat.TV team, and contribute blog posts to the website. Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Enthusiastic candidates who are passionate about technology.
- Well written posts…and humor doesn’t hurt!
- The ability to setup and test new products, then translate your evaluation into an easy to understand post.
Now, let me be upfront with you. We’re not in a position to be able to pay at the moment, but you’ll get exposure and attention, and something that’s already successful to put on your resume. If you’re interested, here’s how you submit:
Email bloggers@geekbeat.tv with the subject line “Dallas Blogger Submission” and include the following:
- Name
- Examples of work: links to any reviews you’ve previously done, or at least some writing samples.
- Types of tech you’re interested in the most (consumer gadgets, mobile, A/V, gaming, etc)
- Availability (when can you can join us at the studio and write stories)
- Contact Information
We’re excited about expanding GeekBeat.TV and we’re looking for people who have some experience blogging and who are strong writers. If you know that we’re looking for you, please let us know! We look forward to chatting soon.

Hi,
What a great opportunity, lets hope I show some of the skills you require. Firstly, I will most likely be one of your older contributors (46) but I have been a keen gadget/technologist for all my adult years having gained access to computers as I entered my college life (Quite some time back!!)
I no longer run an active blog but I am a regular contributor (They call us experts!!!) over at Peerpong a new Q&A site. If you go over you will see a good selection of my 140+ answers showing a wide interest base and hopefully knowledge
http://peerpong.com/imanton
Over recent months I have been actively involved in offering feedback to Peerpong as it develops and even interviewed by the press!
My Key areas of knowledge would be mobiles/handhelds/Android/Apple and the Internet in general.
I have been keen follower of you broadcasts and would hope I would make a good contributor to you site.
I am based in the UK and would be available to write contributions most evenings and some mornings. As I mostly work from my home office I can always find a coffee break to produce some words.
If you consider my narrative worth further investigation you can contact me on my email above ( ian.d.manton@gmail.com) or my cell on [removed]
I hope you willing to give me a shot.
Regards
Ian
Hey Ian, thanks for submitting!! Can you please put this in an email to bloggers@geekbeat.tv with the above information? This will ensure you get in the loop since I’m not the only one looking at submissions.
Sure … can you remove my Cell from the reply above. Cheers
Hey Cali;
I know you’re extremely busy, but I wanted to say that, although I’m not an active blogger ( I was, a few years ago), I would be interested in contributing! I’m a full time engineer at a cellular carrier ( a small one), and I’m a photographer, so I might have some perspectives that would be interesting to some, but I’m not sure I could do something on a daily basis. I guess what I’m asking is: will the blog need to be a daily one, or maybe something weekly? Thanks for your time.
@Roy – We’ll be looking at people with all kinds of availability, so no worries about that!
Happy 4th of July Cali! I’m an avid fan of yours for years. You brighten up my screen! So from Scotland — ((((Wae Hae! Matie!))) Keep ‘em comin’ mah waey!
Happy 4th Cali!!! This is a great idea & I’d be happy to be involved. I sent you an e-mail with my qualifications & info. I just wonder how often your new bloggers have to report to Home Office? Good luck with your new effort “B”
Name: Bradley Davis

You know, all the discussions on iPhone 4 and iOS4. I do not own an iPhone 4 and have not attempted to purchased one. However, I upgraded my iPhone 3GS to iOS4. While the process went smoothly, I do not see benefits yet. And my battery life seems to get reduced. At this point, rather than venture out to a new iPhone that has had a lot of feedback for loss of reception, I purchased a Nexus One (waiting to get my hands on it). With Android 2.2, I can only guess I made the right choice. If any one cares to share their thoughts, please do.
By the way, most of my research is done on Canadian Cell phone carriers to find the most value for money.
Note: You don’t have to be able to blog every day, just let us know how often you’re available!
Email sent. Excited to hear from you!
Well it has been a little while since I have actually written copy. I was the Director of Marketing for a company that developed software for Amiga Computers. I am actually on vacation right now on Kauai. I would really like to pursue this further if you have an interest; however this is bad timing as this vacation thing is just too time consuming. My five year old son is just demanding too much time. I tried to explain the whole GeekBeat concept to him but he just looked at me funny.
I would actually be new to Bloging as I have been meaning to actually start but as yet have not. I do think this would be really interesting and the pay sounds amazing.
I will be returning the week of July 19th and would like to follow up with you. Let me know if you are still looking for folks.
Oh as well as the great pay, will you follow the people who do this?
Email sent.
Hi Cali,
Enjoy your site and the presentation in Las Vegas! I would be very interested in contributing. I am based in Dallas and have a pretty extensive background in consumer electronics. My interests are in green initiatives, home automation, and general gadgetry. I believe that technology exists to make our lives easier, if we know how to use it. Here are some links; let me know if there is a fit & how I can help you
Thanks for the consideration,
Chris
