G-Mate Mag Gun Adds Another Piece to the Perfect Gaming Setup

About a month ago I wrote about the 3rd Space FPS Gaming Vest, a really awesome tool in the gamer’s toolbox. This month I have another for you out of Hong Kong; the G-Mate Mag Gun.

Designed to put you much more firmly into the action by feeling like you’re part of it, the Mag Gun has built into it all of the controls you’d find on a standard console controller. Better still, they’re mapped to work with the XBox 360, the Sony PS3, and with a PC. (Sorry Mac fans, no word on whether it works with your platform. It may or may not, I have no information about that.)

The control mappings are customizable, so if you’re playing a game and the defaults don’t match up properly or just aren’t comfortable, you can adjust it to suit your preferences.

I’ve linked a couple of videos of the gun in action, including the default control mappings and how they relate to 360 and PS3 controllers, and actually playing Modern Warfare with it. Check the videos out, and let us know what you think in the comments; how cool would it be playing your favorite shooters with one of these?

    Too bulky.

Look interesting, but doesn’t seem to have any force feedback, and it looks a bit awkward.

  3. Scott Ellis says:

Dunno if it’s there yet but I’d love to give it a whirl. Definitely a step in the right direction. Love where this stuff is going.

Added thought.. what we need is something like this hacked up with Kinect so I can hit a button and “simulate” throwing a grenade or do other things… now it get’s interesting.
