Smartfish has unveiled the Engage keyboard, a gadget designed to prevent stress in the wrists and hands that results from repetitive motion. The keyboard monitors your productivity, and when it senses that you’ve been in the same position for too long, it makes gentle adjustments to your hand positions.
The initial shape will look familiar if you’ve ever used an ergonomic keyboard, curved slightly and sloping upward toward the center. The two halves of keys can move away from the center line, and the entire keyboard can tilt upward.
Personally, I never could get used to the ergonomic keyboard design, but I do find myself changing the position of the portables I work on to give myself a more comfortable angle. Who knows, maybe something like this could save me from an otherwise certain future with carpal tunnel syndrome? Check out the video of the Engage keyboard below.
