Thank you for this interesting bit of news. After looking at it and being a father of two it makes me wonder how many children might still be alive today if this technology had been available when our girls were born close to 30 years ago. Thankfully, for us, we didn’t have to find out if the car seat we purchased would have protected our children.

I have a four month old son and have had to do a lot of research into carseats lately as he is going to expand out of his capsule soon.
Simply put, children should be rear facing as long as possible (the guides are based on weight, not age, of the child) and ideally have a child car seat mounted in the middle of the rear seat. If the car seat HAS to be mounted on the front seat have your mechanic disable the front air bags first.
