The things that were most important to me in a video camera were size, durability and picture quality. Both cameras are palm-sized and fit great into a small bag or back pocket. I knew the Kodak PlaySport would be the more rugged camera, and it held up very well to repeated use in the ocean as well as dropping it in the sand. I loved being able to take video as well as photos. I was a little more careful with the Sony since it is not waterproof but still wanted to get plenty of vacation action. This camera comes with a lanyard which was allows you to be hands free until you are ready to shoot.
All in all, both cameras were excellent choices for a vacation. I recommend the Sony for all of your scenic and touring vacation videos. But if you are going to be active/ and or around water like snow skiing and water activities, then the Kodak is the way to go.
