The Marantz M-CR603 is touted as a CD Receiver, but it doesn’t just do CD playback. With this device, you can play from pretty much any source, including:

  • CD
  • FM/AM Radio
  • Internet Radio (Napster, Pandora, Rhapsody)
  • Music Server
  • iPod
  • USB Stick

You can also use it as an alarm clock to gently wake you up each morning. The unit is $699 and for a $50 upgrade, you can get Airplay support in addition to everything else so you can play your music and podcasts from iTunes.

Timely post. I’m researching receivers to replace my 10yr old Marantz unit in my home cinema setup. Unfortunately, this unit didn’t just die – it also blew two speakers. So Marantz aren’t on my shortlist right now :)

For an iPad/iPhone friendly receiver I’ve been looking seriously at the Pioneer VSX-1021-K. Have you ever reviewed that device?
