I hate it when I’m mid-conversation and my earbud falls out. It happens, especially for those of us with small ears. (Hmm…perhaps I’ll do an entire video about why having small ears is great…) Anyway, for those of you with normal ears that fit normal earbuds just fine, you might have this problem when you’re exercising. You’re in the groove… the music is keeping your motivation up… and then bam! The bud falls out. So frustrating!

There are a variety of earbuds designed specifically for this purpose, and Skullcandy makes one of them. It’s called the FIX. They have two kinds – earbuds and in-ear earbuds. I’ve been using the in-ear buds and loving them. If you look at them, you’ll notice the difference immediately. The hook design is very effective. In the package, you’ll have two silicone bud choices – larger and smaller. When you have the correct one in, you should know it by the way it fits – snug and secure.

The FIX buds have a microphone and volume up and down buttons on the wire, so you can use them to make calls as well. If you’re in a noisy car, you might have to bring that microphone up closer to your mouth, but otherwise they work great.

And, hey, you even get little skulls all over them… if you’re into that sort of thing! If you’re not, don’t worry. The icons aren’t overwhelming. You won’t feel like you’re walking around being all goth – you actually have to be looking for them to notice.

The in-ear buds retail for $69 and the regular buds retail for $39, though you can get them for less from Amazon.

Thank you, Cali. My ears *are* small – perhaps to hold my tiny brains inside. I have them on my Amazon.com wish list. Have fun in Germany. :-)

Thank you, Cali and your team, for this great review of the Skullcandy FIX In-Ear Earbuds.

Well written article. Even better told in the video with great details like the microfoon build in to the volume control.

    Take care and greetings,
    nick

P.S: Have a good trip and event at the IFA in Berlin, Germany.
