SuperTooth, maker of a line of Bluetooth accessories, recently shipped the new SuperTooth Disco Bluetooth Speaker System to Livid Lobster HQ for us to test out.
The box looked pretty interesting so rather than tossing it into the huge pile of waiting review units I decided to get into it right away. Here’s what I found…
So, to summarize some of the key points:
- The unit is light, at only 2.5 pounds, and the build quality seems very high for a product in this price / feature range.
- The system is LOUD! It puts out 28 watts total, 12 to the subwoofer and 8 each to the left and right speakers.
- It will connect via bluetooth to up to 8 seperate devices. You can only use one at a time, but its easy to switch between them.
- A custom-fit neoprene case is included which includes a flap for the power cable so the unit doesn’t need to be removed to be charged.
The SuperTooth Disco is currently available on Amazon Prime for $135, and I’d highly recommend picking one up if you’re looking for good portable sound.
If I could add one feature to the Disco, I’d wish for a built in microphone. It would turn the unit into an amazing portable speakerphone, and given that they build a range of bluetooth mics I think they could make that happen pretty easily. Perhaps it could be called the Disco Plus?
