Wow! I just got a very cool unexpected present! I had no idea, but John P. was in downtown Dallas and saw this metal robot sculpture in the Deep Ellum area. It’s called “Traveling Man”. He took a picture, posted it on his SmugMug page, and used SmugMug to print it.

Side note: I think that’s actually a really cool feature of SmugMug – the ability to allow people to print your art and let you make money off it. Great for artists. Anyway…

So he makes a metallic print. The picture is printed on a piece of aluminum, and because the image is of a robot… which is made of metal… this treatment looks fantastic!

Watch the video below of me unboxing this piece of art, and if you want to know more about the Traveling Man, you can read this article. Oh, and BTW, if you have a SmugMug page, send me a link! I love to look at other people’s photos.

Thanks to John P for the awesome gift! You guys can see all his cool photos at JohnP.me.

The guys used this Steadfast Handle (only $10!) to shoot all the footage from multiple iPhones. It’s comfortable and has a tripod mount. Pretty cool!

Love the robot and thanks for the heads up about SmugMug. That’s the first time I’ve heard of the website.
