Streaming Across America: Going to NYC the Craziest Way We Can!

Streaming Across America - Main LogoNext week will be CE Week in New York, highlighted by the CEA Line Shows. It’s like a mini-CES (and put on by the same organization) but most people haven’t heard of the event because it doesn’t get nearly the coverage of its Vegas-dwelling sibling. This year that changes, as Livid Lobster has teamed with the CEA to make Geek Beat LIVE the official live streaming partner of the CEA Line Shows. We’ll have a studio set up on the show floor and will be bringing you live all-day coverage on Wednesday and Thursday, June 22 and 23, from 10 AM to 6 PM Eastern. Cali and John will be bringing you interviews with the people who are prepping new products for market at this moment. You’ll find our coverage at our regular live show page at Justin.TV. You won’t want to miss the breaking news of the gadgets that will be making the second part of the year geektacular!

But the fun will begin tomorrow (Wednesday) as John P. and WebBeat.TV producer Norm Flores begin their journey east, driving all our studio equipment to New York in a little adventure we’re calling Streaming Across America.

Gear packingTruss packing
If you’ve seen our Geek Beat LIVE set you know what they’re taking: tons of lights, cameras, microphones, the truss system to hang it all on, and live switching equipment. Getting it all to the Big Apple is a serious job, but these guys never stop having fun, and this trip will be proof of that. They’ve got a course laid out that will take them to some of the wackiest monuments America has to offer. They’re starting off at the world’s largest patio chair, and visiting the National Pinball Museum and Foamhenge just to name a few. You can check out their entire itinerary here. And each of those stops will be a meetup, and every day John and Norm will be giving away some awesome prizes (anyone want a Nintendo 3DS or a netbook?). The trip and the prizes are sponsored by the great folks at Newegg! They’ll be shooting tons of video for everyone to see, and for the full in-the-truck experience, you’ll want to be following both John and Norm on Twitter.

Livid Lobster Trailer
To help us take the show on the road, now and in the future, we’ve added new rolling stock in the form of the Livid Lobster Trailer. By tomorrow, when the trip begins, it will be adorned with some cool art (like that logo you see above) so you won’t be able to miss them on the highways and byways. If you see them on the road, take a picture, post to Twitter and hashtag it #GBTour. We want to keep an eye on these guys. In the meantime, here are a few more shots of the trailer in its current pristine condition. Want to see more? In last week’s Geek Beat LIVE, Cali and John took the camera out into the parking lot and gave you an up close tour!

We’ll see you on the road!
