Acer has announced its new Aspire Switch 12 convertible laptop. The new Switch has 5 different modes of usage. It can be a laptop, it can be a tablet, or it can even be a mini-desktop with the detachable wireless keyboard. There’s also a couple modes in between. The laptop is built around a 12.5″ full-HD 1920×1080 touch screen with IPS technology. It has zero air gap for the best quality and touch performance. Speaking of performance, it’s got Intel’s Core M Processor which brings performance, but it’s so low wattage, it gives this laptop up to 8 hours of battery life. It’ll also give you 60GB and 120GB storage options.

The Aspire Switch 12 will be coming to the US in 2015. Pricing and exact availability will be announced later by Acer.

SAN JOSE, CALIF, (Nov 4, 2014)Acer announces the Acer Aspire Switch 12 with five modes of usagein one notebook and a vibrant 12.5-inch display. It also combines powerful computing with the newest Intel® Core™ M processor and a Full HD display to provide users a versatile device that helps boosts productivity.

Fluidly versatile

Equipped with a unique kickstand design that features a magnetic and latch-less detachable keyboard, the centerpiece of the Aspire Switch 12 is its ability to easily transition between five distinct modes (notebook, pad, display, tent and desktop). Through these five modes, users can find a configuration for just about any need and use it as a laptop, tablet with or without keyboard, or desktop PC. It can also be optimized for sharing information and viewing multimedia (display and tent modes) in conjunction with its dual front-facing speakers for a rich and full audio experience on the go.

The Aspire Switch 12’s detachable keyboard can work connected or wirelessly and provides full-sized typing comfort along with a pointing stick for an enhanced navigation experience. Users can also enjoy its 10-point touch controls on a larger screen and use an optional Acer Active Pen1 for a more intuitive writing and drawing experience.

Dashing display

With a 12.5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display with IPS* technology and Zero Air Gap direct bonding technology, users can see everything clearly from wide viewing angle, with vivid colors and detail, even in bright sunlight. For added durability, the Aspire Switch 12’s display is built with next generation of Corning® Gorilla® Glass and treated with an anti-fingerprint coating that reduces unsightly smudges.

Outstanding performance

The Aspire Switch 12 is powered by the new Intel® Core™ M processor for a compelling combination of computing performance and stunning display graphics.
