Acer’s C720 has been given an upgrade. The ChromeOS based laptop retains its 8.5 hour battery life, but a 4th Generation 1.7GHz Core i3 CPU replaces the previous 1.4GHz Celeron. The new models will will have superior multi-tasking from the faster CPU. The new Chromebooks are still affordable. You’ll pay $439 for the Core i3 and 2GB of memory and $479 for an upgrade to 4GB. Both models will have a 32GB SSD drive for storage.

The award-winning Acer C720 Chromebook is now available in two models powered by the Intel Core i3 processor to provide customers even faster and more responsive performance for multi-tasking, while also providing long battery life of up to 8.5 hours.(1)

The Acer C720 Chromebook will be available in two models with a 4th Generation Intel Core i3-40005U processor (1.7GHz, 3MB L3 cache). The Acer C720-3404 will have 4GB of memory and will be priced at $379.99, while the Acer C720-3871 will have 2GB of memory and will be priced at $349.99. They will be available this month at retailers in North America.
The additional boost in performance and battery life will be useful to families, students and the growing number of customers who enjoy the Google ecosystem and growing assortment of Chrome apps for school, work and entertainment. Like other Acer C720 models, the new C720-3404 and C720-3871 will have fast 32GB Solid State Drive(3) that boots up in less than 7 seconds and resumes nearly instantly from sleep mode.
