Asus to Bundle Leap Motion Controllers with Upcoming PCs

January 3, 2013 by giovanni

Leap Motion ControllerWe named the Leap Motion Controller as one of our top technology releases of 2012, and apparently we weren’t the only ones impressed. Leap Motion has announced that Asus will be bundling the motion-capturing controller with some higher-end notebooks and All-in-One computers later this year.

The Leap Controller does away with the need for a mouse or touchpad by allowing pointing and directional input by moving your hands in the air above the sensor. It has a 150-degree field of view, and can track each hand and all 10 fingers individually at 290 frames per second.

If you want to try out the Leap Controller before it ships with the computer of your choice, the company is taking pre-orders on their site for an expected early 2013 release. The price for the stand-alone controller is $69.99.
