Scott Ellis (our resident coffee expert) and I are taste testing four different flavors from Coffee Bean Direct. Lots of geeks are fueled by coffee, so we wanted to do a bit of a deep dive into our favorite beverage!
The Fine Points of Tasting
Scott used a French press to brew our sample coffees for the better, fuller, sweeter flavor that method brings forth. He also told us a bit about the correct way to do the actual tasting.
Eyes Wide Open
The Eyes Wide Open coffee was somewhat mild with a nice strong aroma that wakes you right up!
Chocolate Stout has a mild, dark chocolate aroma, which comes through more strongly in the flavor once it’s brewed.
The most amazing smelling coffee of the bunch was the Shamrock Cream, and true to its name it had a very smooth, creamy flavor.
Bourbon Street has a very interesting, mildly spicy smell and flavor, but still super mild.
