EDITOR’S CHOICE: The Powerbag Messenger Recharges Portable Devices On The Go

October 8, 2011 by John P.

Powerbag MessengerThe folks over at Powerbag sent a few samples of their new backpacks and messenger bags which have integrated charging capabilities over to the Livid Lobster studios for review. Cali and I took one of the bags with us to Germany as a secondary bag, mainly just to review it, although we had our primary backpacks that we generally carry everywhere.

We were so impressed by the bag that on our next trip to Indianapolis the Powerbag Messenger became our primary weapon of choice. It allows for the charging of cell phones, tablets, wireless hotspots, and anything else that can be charged from a USB connection.

Ful Powerbag Video Overview

Here’s a complete video walkthrough of the Powerbag Messenger. By the way, if you are more of a backpack person than a messenger bag person, no problem. Geek Beat’s very own Kien Tran did a complete review of the backpack version of this bag as well.

Powerbag Gets an Editor’s Choice Award

Geek Beat TV - Editor's ChoiceChoosing the Powerbag for our travels is one thing, but the fact that I’ve adopted the Messenger as my daily bag is a testament to the versatility of this design.

The bag is extremely well constructed, attractive, and functional in a way that no other bag I own is. In addition to having all the space I need to carry gadgets, papers and miscellaneous stuff, the built-in charger has become the method for recharging my devices at least 50% of the time.

With all of my gadgets plugged into the bag, its intelligent enough to charge them first – then recharge the bag’s battery. And I’ve even had the occasion to swap out the bag’s rechargeable battery for a fresh one when I forgot to plug the bag in one night.

Limited Time Offer

The folks over at Ful have offered Geek Beat readers a limited time 15% discount on any Powerbag! This offer is only valid through October 16, 2011! (We get nothing for this, it’s strictly an offer for you guys.)

If you head on over to MyPowerbag.com and use the code PBGEEKBEAT you can purchase this Messenger bag for under $120 right now.

If you’d rather wait and buy it at a store, it should be coming to Best Buy soon, but of course when that happens you’ll no longer be the coolest kid on the block because everyone will have one. 🙂

Too bad, I missed out and would have liked to grab this bag. I’m a graduate student so the full price is bit out of my reach, but the bag definitely seems like it has great potential.

Maybe if you guys get them to extend the coupon again, I’ll get a chance to grab it. =) Thanks for the review.
