If you’re looking for something that will charge your phone with a sly nod to photosynthesis while making a fine centerpiece to your 21st century bonsai garden (indoor only), look no farther than the Electree, a charging concept from French designer Vivian Muller.
The tree sculpture serves as the stand for 27 solar panels, each of which can be independently rotated for best light reception, or just to be most aesthetically pleasing. The base contains a 13,500 mAh battery connected to a concealed USB connector and an AC outlet. The battery charges fully in less than 36 hours.
The Electree is currently in a presale phase, with the first 400 being numbered and certificated. The price is €269 , or about $387 USD.
