Explore Taketomi Island in Okinawa, Japan

April 17, 2013 by giovanni

The Amazing Food of ANA

The food we were served on ANA was spectacular. The variety and presentation was amazing, and they have a menu of things you can order from at any time in the flight.

Taketomi – A Preserved Island

Taketomi Island is preserved in the same way it was long ago. The houses are hundreds of years old, and there’s actually a waiting list to move to the island.

Water Buffaloes Rule the Roads

Water buffaloes are the primary mode of transportation on the island, and they absolutely have right of way over the few cars on the island.

The Hoshinoya Resort

We were particularly impressed by the Hoshinoya Resort on Taketomi Island. We had awesome bungalows, surrounded by hand-stacked stone walls.

Minsah Weaving

One of the traditions of Taketomi Island is Minsah weaving, which I had a chance to try. It produces a very tightly woven cloth with romantic significance.

I am sure japan is a great place but i watch to learn about new gadgets not how to weld i like the way cali presents them . I guest she is busy with other interest now and dont have much time for the show any more normally i would not say anything but i hate to see the show go down the drain. Cali probably wont see this comment but i had to tell some one .good luck on the new format.
