Often when flying, transfers at airports are unavoidable. And sometimes the time to get from one gate to the next to catch your plane is pretty tight. You don’t always know what gate your connecting flight is departing from, and sometimes it’s a bit of a hassle to locate a departure board in a strange airport.
If you’ve got FlightBoard on your iPhone or iPad, you won’t have to. The app pulls data from over 4000 airports and gives you a very attractive interface (styled after the departure board in Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris) from which to find the info you need. You’ll be able to grab your gate information before you even get off your first plane, and know where you’re going when you hit the terminal.
The app delivers columns for Flight, Destination, Gate and Departure or Arrival time, and you can sort on any of these to quickly find what you need. Want to let someone know where you’ll be or that the flight was delayed? There’s also smooth integration with email, Twitter, Facebook, and SMS messaging to get the word out. It even connects with the FlightTrack app (which shows you where a plane is in its route) so you can find a flight on FlightBoard, then get location information.
FlightBoard is available for iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch and is priced at $3.99 in the App Store.
