If you still want to get the best of the Geek Beat content you were getting from before the transition – you’re going to have to follow our new accounts under the old names to get the new content that will be similar to the old content but new. :-/ Yeah – just get all clickety-click on those links down there and let’s keep this geeky train a rollin!

Good move! I come here for the tech reviews primarily and it looks like Luria is moving away from that. Glad to see that the whole investment is not getting a swirly down the porcelain porthole!

So happy that you’ve reversed the decision and revived GeekBeat! It is the best tech show running, and I was truly sad to see it go. So now I’m happier. Hope you’ll continue and that Calli will come back on, too. I think this is a smart move for you all.

After reading this post from Cali (Luria) on her website it is safe to say she isn’t coming back to Geekbeat and has her own thing now…

      http://geekslife.com/forums/topic/whats-going-on-im-confused/#post-74051

On the plus side we should have lots more content since Geekbeat and Geekslife will be doing their own thing.

Yes, now everyone who wants it gets double the fun. 😉

And as one might imagine, I take great issue with Luria’s story. And I believe it is an entirely private matter. She says she’s attempting to avoid mud slinging, so I’m puzzled by the fact that although I’m completely silent on the entire matter she isn’t.

I am thankful for each of you who respect my right to privacy and don’t require me to “prove my innocence”. And I’m very sorry that everyone has been exposed to any nastiness whatsoever.

So i haven’t been around for a while and then I came back and then… WTF?? I have no idea about the shenanigans but I’m glad that you’ve decided to stick with it and come back on air… I am curious about one thing though; what to all the shows patrons think about it all?

Nice to see you again but could you drop a bit of explanation on the split neither you or Laura have really explained. One minute there’s one show one place all apparent happy. Next she’s high tailed it with the feeds and your on your own in the geek house patrons contributed too..

      Hi John,

We’re not commenting on the situation. While there are different sides to the story, you can find a couple videos Luria posted about her reasons for making this change over on the Geeks Life site. Since we are no longer in control of the Patreon contributions or the old GeekBeat.TV social feeds we can’t address any questions or concerns about those being switched.

We have had several requests to start a new Patreon for Geek Beat, and that is under consideration.

If you want to follow the new social accounts we’ve set up for Geek Beat, well, here you go!

John P., Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I am a tech geek (not a fashion geek, not a food geek, not a music geek, not a movie geek), and Geeks Life is just too diversified with their content for my liking. At least 8 or 9 out of every 10 Geek Beat shows have my undivided attention from start to finish because they are more geared toward technology with a bit of relevant diversity sprinkled in. I find it’s just the opposite for Geeks Life with maybe 1 or 2 shows out of every 10 that keep my attention because I’m just not that interested in seeing full videos dedicated to non-tech content like upcoming movies or seeing where I can go online to have a custom guitar made. I wish Cali/Luria and the Geeks Life crew the best of luck, but I prefer the Geek Beat format.

Welcome back! So glad your efforts with the GeekHouse and Livid Lobster continues. I was a videographer for a small production company in Boston (Videograph) way back in the 70s and know the value of your production space – when we needed to do color production we bartered production facilities from a near-by business’s headquarters. We would have found your space heaven! So wishing you the best in your co-production efforts.
Hope to meet you someday if you get back up to Boston.
    And Welcome to GeekBeat…

I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again John, your videos are pretty much the best tech videos out there – period. And I will watch every one of them and I’ll bet you everyone who has watched them before will still watch them. Oh and by the way, the Live Show was one big fat bowl of Geek -Tech awesomeness… I watch a lot of tech shows and nothing comes close. Geekbeat is a great brand, there is so much potential with it. So come on, man, let’s do this! Just saying…

So happy you’re back!!! Joe C and I really, really missed watching you :(. We love watching your particular quirky reviews and look forward to your revitalized GeekBeat show. Keep going and know that we are loyal supporters! Maybe you’ll have some new hosts and that could be interesting. We are so happy you’re back. Please don’t leave again for a long time.

  18. john says

    April 24, 2015 at 2:24 pm

So why did everyone really leave? Luria and David are saying it all came down to money issues.
You do need money to live and make a living.

HeY John P, please, please, please do this below!!! Patrick Norton and Shannon Morse use to do show called Tekzilla. Well as luck would have it it went away and so did my auto subscription to the podcast on my podcast player. I’m not a big youtube user so I don’t go there to watch their new show,TekThing. So I dropped Shannon an email and got her to give me a link to their new show on feedburner.com So I popped the link into my podcast player and WaaLa,I don’t miss a show!! Please just give us a new link to auto download geekbeat to put in our podcast catchers/players. Thanks!!

  24. Scal says

    April 23, 2015 at 2:21 pm

Really Happy to hear that !
To be quite honest I did not follow the show during the last months. It was really too focused on earning money (well … asking for money: the wall, the patreon, the shirts, etc.). It became ridiculous. All this became too big for you all. The soul and spirit of the beginning was lost.

I’m ready to pay for a show I love, I already do that for several podcasts. But too much is too much. I became tired of this and decided to move on even if I loved you and Calli.

I will follow you now. If I like it, I will pay for that show I’ve been loving since the beginning.

So happy to see you back.

    Take care.

    Scal

I have missed your inputs over the last weeks. I wish you success and I for one will be watching. I enjoy your “how to” episodes.

    • John P. says

      April 23, 2015 at 9:56 am

I think you’re referring to the version of the show we put on iTunes, right?

For that we have to get some hosting set back up to put the downloadable files, and we need to get everything back in iTunes. So we’ll work on getting that set up. It will be back! But we have a million things we’re trying to do at once, so stay tuned…

        Blubrry – http://www.blubrry.com/
        Libsyn – http://www.libsyn.com/

Both are pretty cheap options for hosting podcasts and both are good.

I much prefer the podcast method over the YouTube method because I can download and watch at work.
