Google Glass for Everyone!

$1500 Gets Anyone Google Glass

Google has answered the world’s problems! Well, okay, maybe not the WORLD…. but if you’ve been aching to get Google Glass on your face and in your life, now you can. Now anyone can be an Explorer without going through an approval process! You still have to pay $1500 for them, but there you go then. You have some design and color choices as well. Let me know if you get them! John ordered a pair. Turns out his eye doctor is one of the few ophthalmologists in the States who can turn Glass into prescription glasses!

Taking to the Skies on a Flying Bike

When you get Glass, how about taking it out for its inaugural flight on a REAL flight! This flying bicycle only costs $45,000. What? You just spent $1500 on a pair of glasses! This is nothing. Just think of it as a bike with a cart on the back. Except the cart is holding a 4 foot wide, 75 pound, 3-blade propeller, made out of carbon fiber. It’ll go 25mph for 75 miles. Unfortunately, you can’t go higher than 4,000 feet. Though I’m not sure I’d want to! If the US Army Golden Knights can jump out of a plane at 2,500 feet, I think 4,000 is all you really need to go on a BICYCLE!

The Geek Beat Store is OPEN!

Remember a couple months ago, when we offered up Geek Beat t-shirts for the first time ever? And you guys asked for more. For lots more, actually! And… we promised those of you who are patrons at the Geek+ Level a NEW shirt every 3-4 months. So…. we went out and found an incredibly talented graphic artist. His name is Jason Carne and he’s worth every penny! His designs are amazing! Just go watch the livestream we did with him yesterday at geekbeat.tv/jasoncarne.

Well, as of today, we’ve launched our official Geek Beat Store with the original logo’d t-shirts plus two of Jason’s brand new designs! These first two are part of what we’re calling the Vintage Collection. Go back to Geek Beat’s roots in 1810 to see Dexter as a cowboy! And there’s an incredibly intricate and detailed Geek Beat University shirt. Be sure to send us ideas about shirts you want to see in the future and give Jason huge thanks at Twitter.com/AmongVillains.

Oh! And yes, International shipping IS available for $20. That’s PER ORDER though, so if you’re thinking about ordering multiple items, including the Bad Parking Cards, do it all at once and save a bit of money! The shirts are all in preorder at the moment, and we’re working on getting samples in to make sure they come out amazing! After we clear the samples, we’ll be placing the big batch order and getting all the preorders fulfilled! First come, first served!

Understanding Your Fitness Info

Jawbone is making an interesting partnership with Automatic. Let me back up. Automatic Link is a gadget that you plug into the OBD port in your car. Download their app and if the check engine light comes on or something is wrong with your car, the app will alert you. It has GPS to track where the car is. It’ll also help you learn to be a better driver. If you brake really fast and hard or speed a lot or slam on the gas when the light turns green, it’ll give you suggestions that’ll help you take better care of your car and save money. So…now if you have Jawbone’s UP fitness tracker along with Automatic’s service, you’ll be able to get more information about WHY you burn the amount of calories you do. So when you miss your target steps that day, you’ll be able to see that maybe you spent too much time in the car. You can choose a route that you took that day and see how many calories you WOULD have burned if you would have walked instead. Obviously, this is more for the shorter trips just down the way instead of long highway drives. But cool, useful information!

Sponsored by QNAP

QNAP has storage devices for keeping all your files safe and secure. It’s redundant storage, so a drive can fail and your data is STILL safe! Since it’s connected to the network (it’s an NAS – network attached storage) you can access the same content on any computer throughout the house or office. Head over to QNAP.com, click on Features – and prepare to have your mind blown!

The one question I have for Glass is, is it possible for aux audio & video input via Wi-Fi?
