For those of us using Google Docs on a frequent basis as our cloud storage for docs, spreadsheets, presentations and files, it was once a bitter sweet relationship. Great for storing and managing files, bad for searching and locating. That is no longer the case. Google has announced App Search. The application setting, which is available in Labs under the Settings tab, can easily be turned on so that search results will include matching documents, sites and email messages. Thus ending the frustration caused by scrolling through a never ending list of files. When a search is performed, the results split the window between mail results and doc results, easily distinguishing where the file is stored.
The App Search labs feature is available for both Gmail and Google Apps for Domains.
