Gum Max Duo Review (Portable Battery Pack)

May 13, 2013 by giovanni

We’ve previously shown you the Gum Max from Just Mobile. Now, they’ve come out with a bigger, badder version called the Gum Max Duo!

Gum Max Duo Review

The Gum Max Duo is a portable battery pack with 2 USB ports for charging two devices at once. It’s a 11,200mAh battery and gives you ~7 hours of extra battery life. We’ve used this pack on several trips, and it’s fantastic because it takes work to deplete the battery! It is a bit heavier than other options, so if you only need an extra hour or two, you may choose to have another option. But if you know you’ll be charging multiple devices and need lots of charge, this a great option.

One USB port is a 2 Amp for your phone. The other is a 2.4 amp for an iPad or equivalent. There are 8 status lights that will keep you updated on how much charge you have left.

The one thing you need to be aware of is that when you plug in a device, you’ll need to turn the battery on – it won’t automatically begin charging.

When you get a Gum Max Duo, you’ll get a black rubber cover for it. I love that they offer different color options as well – yellow, blue and red.

It retails for $130 on the Just Mobile website. You can also get it on Amazon.

These things look quite amazing! I’m surprised they were able to cram so much power into such a small package.
