Good news for those closeted Mac OS X lovers who prefer the power and ability of a Windows PC (maybe because you like gaming or prefer a wider variety of core hardware options) but drool over the sophistication and usability of Apple’s sleek operating system. Thanks to the freeware Snow Transformation Pack, you can turn your PC into an OS X lookalike. And don’t worry, your secret is safe with us.
Snow Transformation Pack will completely alter the appearance of your system, and that includes the login screen, icons, wallpapers, sounds, dock, dialog boxes, and other user interface features. This is how it works: Once you disable User Account Control and perform the installation (hint: you might have to do this twice), you’ll be presented with a couple of options. Here, you can choose to install extra background apps responsible for additional graphics. If your computer isn’t a speedy beast, it’s recommended that you turn them off to optimize your performance. Do that and voila, you’ve got yourself an OS X clone sure to impress your PC-using friends and infuriate your Mac-using amigos.
Overall, STP looks a lot like a OS X, and aside from a few limitations in usability, users might feel as though they’ve gone to the other side (or the dark side, depending on your PC vs Mac standpoint).
The best part? Snow Transformation Pack is a free download. The downside? It’s only available for Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Why would I want to do this? I bought a Windows machine for a reason! If I wanted a fruity interface, I would have bought a piece of fruit!
For XP users, take a look at FlyAKiteOSX.
Why not just install OSX natively?
The worry is having to disable UAC. That probably means a lot of this stuff is running with admin permission, and is ripe for security problems.
