Just in case stalking your child’s Facebook profile, tweets and snooping through their text messages while they sleep isn’t satisfying your Big Brother parenting needs, I have good news for you. A new Android app called iGuardianTeen will watch over your precious baby’s driving habits when you aren’t in the passenger seat to nag about it yourself.
The app will log speed, GPS, acceleration, location, and distance traveled; and then email you the recorded information immediately at the completion of each drive – or after an accident.
If those features don’t perk your interest, just wait. There’s more. Because it mounts on the dashboard, it makes it easy for the app to record video (the last five minutes of each drive are saved to the SD card), and can report any phone use or texting during the session. It’ll also alert you of any hard turns or panicked braking.
So there you have it, over-protective parents. For just $19.99, you too can monitor your offspring’s every on-road move. Just don’t tell them you’ve installed it. You think your kid won’t simply turn it off to cover their tracks? I suggest you start thinking up some lies for what the device really does now.
