The company claims the printer is the lowest priced model on the market and is comparable in quality to competing models that cost twice as much. The new printer uses 1.75mm filament that can be ABS, PVA, or PLA. The printer prints at layer thicknesses between 0.1mm and 0.5mm and can print at 24cc per hour. It’s rated at up 250° Celsius in temperature. Monoprice offers ABS and PVA filament in several colors including fluorescent yellow, clear, blue, purple, white, bright green, black, and of course red.
Monoprice’s Dual Color Extrusion 3D Printer costs $1199. That includes free shipping to the lower 48 states and a 6-month parts replacement warranty. The product is expected to launch May 22nd.
