A few months ago, a video was making the rounds of the internet of a pretty nifty little hexapod robot. Hexapods are not at all uncommon in the hobby robotics community but what really stuck out about this little bot was its radially-irised arms (I love making up terms!) and the sectioned half hemisphere of polycarbonate panels that covered its legs. One of the most common remarks to the video that the bot’s creator, Kare Halvorsen, posted on Youtube was ‘how awesome it would be if he could add a second hemisphere and, make it roll’. Well, it looks like he’s about halfway there now. The newest video released for the MorpHex shows it flexing its new upper panels while gyrating with its lower legs. Kare says that he hasn’t yet figured out how to get the bot to roll when its legs are all tucked away but, that it is part of the plan.

the shields are cool it could be a self propelled ball a12356 b123456 are the shield labels open a1 and 6 to start, to stop the ball open all a but speed versus structure it might break and straight would be a issue unless sensor taps where put into the shields then it would take some playing with to be able to plot out courses for it to follow. Most defineily out of my realm of possible but is now in my reality of possible thank you
it looks like its the wobble is +1-3+2-4+3-6 alternating (leg- knee+)=a +a(135)=-a(246) to dance with gain rate controls direction is -1+35 at foot at leg is |1| -3+5 and knee -246 looks like
If I was a male spider (of practically any species), I think I’d find MorPhex video part 1 incredibly enticing. The 2nd one here, Lady Bugs found a new floorshow. But in all seriousness, VERY cool!!! Applications could include; fully integrated studio remote controlled LED lighting stand or perhaps an assistant for the physically challenged, with many more apps on the horizon… “B”
