Mother’s Day Gifts for Geeky Moms

Really Last Minute Ideas…

Okay… when I say these are last minute Mother’s Day gift ideas, I mean you need to stop what you’re doing and order from Amazon right NOW if it’s going to be delivered in time! So let’s get right to it.

Does She Like Practical Gifts?

First, let’s get the obligatory stereotypical items out of the way. I always prefer gifts that are practical and help me live life more efficiently, but not every woman is the same, so if you go with one of these next three items, I suggest caution. Make sure she knows you don’t think she needs to vacuum more often.

Roomba Vaccum Robot for Pets and Allergies

It’s not a subtle message about her house cleaning abilities, it’s a way to make sure neither YOU nor SHE has to do anything when it comes to cleaning the floors! Get a Roomba for the both of you! We’ve all wanted robots to do our work for us from the time of the Jetsons. And this does just that. The 770 gets rid of 98% of the dust, dirt and pet hair. It’s for Allergies and Pets for a very clean environment. You can schedule it to clean the floors 7 days a week if you want, and it’ll do it while you’re at work.

Dropcam

Of course, you’ll want to get a Dropcam installed in the house so while she’s at work or running errands, she can watch the dog react to the Roomba while it’s rolling around the floors. Always makes for a fun laugh! And it’s also great for keeping an eye on the kids while they’re with the babysitter or if they’re old enough, home alone. Make sure they’re not throwing parties without your permission!

Hamilton Beach SmoothTouch Can Opener

Let’s get into the kitchen! Some might say Can Openers are… well… can openers. But we as geeks know better! The Hamilton Beach SmoothTouch can opener brilliantly opens cans in such a way that there’s no where to cut your finger on it. It’s a completely smooth surface that is great for you, mom and the kids as they’re learning to cook!

Centrix Q Zone Quiet Hair Dryer

And how about a hair dryer that makes as little noise as possible? If she needs to listen for crying kids…or worse, SILENT kids… while getting ready in the morning, the Centrix Q Zone Quiet hair dryer is super quiet, and it’s ceramic tourmaline to take good care of her hair. Best yet, you can talk to each other without screaming!!!!

Bring On the Bacon!

Now, if you’d like to get her something to help her relax a bit, most women could go for candles. It’s relaxing and they smell good. Especially if they’re bacon scented!

Or if she has a Galaxy S4, and she’s a bacon lover, she might like the Bacon Overload case from myLife. Or bacon bandages to use when the kids get hurt. Or how about a little Bacon Hot Sauce? It has Cayenne pepper and New Mexico Chili in it! Or, for the ultimate treat, you can always go for Chocolate Covered Bacon. And it’s Gluten free!

Rebel Desk Treadmill

Okay, so in reality, I know that a lot of mothers, especially new ones, struggle with finding time to get to the gym. Sure, wrangling up kids is quite the workout in itself! But an actual workout is good stress relief and fulfills the need to take care of herself, while also there are products like a CBD flower that will also help her relax. If she works in an office, or has a home office, she could get both a workout in AND get work done if you got her a Rebel Desk Treadmill! Women are fantastic at multi-tasking, and I know she’d love this!

Fitbit One and Fitbit Aria WiFi Smart Scale

You could also get her a fitness tracker so she can track the amount of calories and steps she takes each day. It may not be the latest and greatest, but I still love the Fitbit One. It’s one of the most consistent and accurate trackers out there, and I love the Fitbit app. You could also consider the Aria WiFi scale, that ties into the Fitbit ecosystem and again, gives consistent readings, which is key in tracking your health.

Bad Parking Cards

For a little real-world stress relief, get her some Bad Parking Cards. 9 creative and original designs that let her (and you) tell other drivers how you REALLY feel without getting angry and slashing tires. Don’t you just love this one designed by John P himself?!

Amazon Fire TV

A Fire TV is certainly a GREAT present for anyone. With access to Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant video and more, mom may even be able to cut the cable and still have plenty to keep the kids busy and for her to watch at the end of the day.

Chromebook

I recently suggested my sister get a Chromebook. It’s a great choice for a computer that’s lightweight, uncomplicated and still gets stuff done! And… it’s great for kids to learn on too!

Samsung Galaxy Camera

Speaking of kids, how about a Samsung Galaxy Camera to take wonderful photos and video of the family? Not only does it take video in 1080p, it’s also 16.3 megapixels with a 21x optical zoom. The 4.8” touchscreen is great for viewing the photos and video before she uploads them STRAIGHT to YouTube, Facebook, Google+ or Twitter. Or emails them. It’s a super time saver and stress free-er! No more sorting through photos at the end of the day to decide what to share. Just do it right there and then. John P and I love this camera so much we use it all the time! Even at places like NAB and CES to share video with you guys!
