New Android Market Makes Tentative First Appearance

November 2, 2011 by Gord McLeod

Android Market Update

Android Central has spotted an early appearance of Android Market 3.3.11 with some welcome new features. Visually there aren’t many differences from what you see now, but check the settings and you’ll find some important and welcome improvements.

  • Tell all apps to automatically update.
  • Only update apps when connected to wifi.
  • Automatically add shortcuts to the homescreen.
They seem to feel this may be a test build, so if you don’t get updated to it right away, don’t be TOO surprised. You can always download it manually if you’re impatient. You might want to hold off if you’re running a Honeycomb tablet though, as it apparently doesn’t play nicely with those.
If any of you decide to give it a shot, let us know in the comments!
