Want to Read and Win Cool Stuff? Check Out Our Newsletter

October 15, 2010 by giovanni

Do you enjoy all the good stuff you find here at GeekBeat.TV and our sister site and show, WebBeat.TV? Do you sometimes miss stuff and wish there was an easy place to find links to the coolest shows and stories of the week? And do you want a little bit extra, a look at what we’re working on, and the occasional glimpse behind the scenes at the studio? Then we have something you just might want to get in on.

Very soon we’ll be launching the Livid Lobster weekly newsletter, which will be your info hub for all the shows and sites run by our parent company. The boss even says we can give stuff away every month, exclusively to lucky people on our subscriber list, so you can bet we’ll be having some fun with that.

Signing up is easy, just take a look to the right of this post and you’ll see the form. We just need your name and email, although if you’d like to share your web site and Twitter name, we’d love to see what you’re up to on the web. And we promise no spam, and no third parties will be getting a hold of your info. This is just about the newsletter, and of course you can opt out at any time, although we can’t imagine why you would!

UPDATE: It looks like for the Twitter name field you need to enter a full URL, like http://twitter.com/davepeterson – Thanks to Dennis and Bruce for helping us figure that out!

2nd UPDATE: Some people are still having troubles with the form. We don’t want anyone to miss out on the newsletter because they can’t get the form to work, so if it still won’t take your info, please send your first and last names, and email address to newsletter@lividlobster.com, and we’ll make sure you get on the list.

Thanks everyone! We’ll see about making the required form of that Twitter ID more clear.

Looks like the twitter ID has to be the full website address, for example, http://twitter.com/TwitterID

Ahhhhhh, Now I feel real s-t-u-p-i-d. Thanks Dennis, a mark of true genius. I’m sure if I had the left part of my brain booted up, I would have realized this. I’ll un-subscribe then re-subscribe with the proper twitter ID… Thanks again “B”

I confirm what Bruce says, mine worked when I removed the Twitter ID

Hay everybody……. I was able to subscribe by *not entering my twitter ID*. It went right through, and even got a confirmation e-mail. I don’t have a web site either, so that aspect is not an issue for me. Dave, by entering a twitter ID, would I get updates to the newsletters on my twitter account as well as my Gmail? Thanks! “B”

I do have a web site and I too am rejected with “not a valid web address.”

  12. Brad says

Hey, I tried to subscribe to the news letter, but when I click on “subscribe” nothing happens! I don’t have a website. My twitter ID is RBBnLkd

I enjoy and subscribe to GeekBeat (via Zune), but am unable to subscribe to WebBeat.TV through Zune, because the format isn’t supported. I do, however enjoy Pelpina’s WebBeat.TV on the web. Great work!

Part of one of the oldest Apple User Groups in the world. We’ve just started a blog on our website too.

Desperately trying to sign up for the Newsletter. Just get “Please enter a valid URL” – even though the Website box is not mandatory. Plus I don’t have a web site….

    • Dave Peterson says

      October 15, 2010 at 2:36 pm

Okay Kriss, thanks. We’ll look into that.

Similar issue in that there was no confirmation my subscription had been registered. I guess the website section needs the subscriber to enter “http://” ?
