Pix & Stix Makes Garageband for iPad More Realistic

May 17, 2011 by giovanni

Pix and Stix for iPad
Garageband for the iPad has a lot of people excited for the digital instruments it brings to the tablet. But what if you want a little more realism than just tapping your fingers on that beautifully rendered drum kit? What if you want some real sticks in your hands? The people who brought us the Wallee have another iPad-enhancing trick up their sleeves.

Pix & Stix are accessories for the drum and guitar instruments in Garageband. For $14.95 Australian (about $15.80 U.S.), you can have a guitar pick and a pair of drum sticks that are iPad friendly. The tips of each are coated with electro-conducive rubber so the tablet won’t know it’s not your fingers, but you’ll have a bit more realistic interface. It’s not quite to production yet, though. The project is being crowd-funded and is currently 52% of the way to its target when production will begin. Interested in helping this intriguing notion become reality? Check out the site.
