REVIEW: Evio Harmony iPad Case – Stylish and Functional Protection!

April 23, 2012 by Mark Zamora

Not too long ago, Cali and John unboxed the seemingly ordinary Evio Harmony iPad 2 case on Geek Beat LIVE. It looks very cool and anything with Livid Lobster Red is always nice! Despite all that, nothing really stood out about the case at first. It’s not trying to be fancy. It’s not made out of some ridiculous material studded with gems. It doesn’t double as a can-opener and toaster.

It was just very nice looking, so we put it on the office iPad and kind of forgot about it.

Now, a few weeks later, it finally hit me..
That case is doing an AMAZING job!!

Harmony iPad Case – Sleek Design

Harmony iPad Case Nice FinishAs I mentioned already, the design is very sleek. Smooth, high-quality material with excellent stichwork holds the case together beautifully. It seems to be very durable as well. We use the office iPad as our teleprompter for shooting My Mobile Life, so we take it everywhere. It sees a lot of travel which means it sees a lot of action. The case is still holding itself together and feels durable enough that I’m not worried about it falling apart anytime soon.

Harmony iPad Case Back Leather Cover
This is where it makes sense to tell you that there is more to this case than simple good looks. It is very functional as well. Holes are cut-out in the right places making it so that not only are that all ports, buttons and the cameras are accessible but they are easily accessible. I’ve never had a frustrating moment with this case where I say “Ugh, the case is in the way – hold on…”

It just works!

Extra Features of the Harmony iPad Case

Harmony iPad Case Easy Access to ButtonsThere are a few nifty features about this case as well. If you have an iPad 2, then you can take advantage of the “Smart Cover” feature thanks to a magnet built-into the front. So when you open or close the case, the screen will turn on and off respectively. Of course, Apple moved the positioning or switched the polarity of the magnets in the iPad 3, so while the case will still fit the newer devices perfectly, you lose this functionality.

Harmony iPad Case with StandAnother nice little feature is a built-in kick stand. It doesn’t go very high, so don’t expect any favors when it comes to viewing media and such, but it makes for a more comfortable typing experience when you are using your tablet as an e-mail machine or browsing the web.

Evio Harmony iPad Case – Overall Impressions and Pricing

It comes down to this. The Evio iPad Case is extremely well made. It’s subtle. You don’t notice how many things it does right until you stand back and really examine it. Since it came out of it’s packaging, it’s served the Livid Lobster team very well. It protects your device without getting in the way. It’s nice to look it, nice to the touch and even light-weight. You can buy it for only 40 dollars and I truly believe it is worth it for simple and functional protection. For more information, be sure to check out the Evio website.
