A big reveal at CES 2013 was the NVIDIA Shield mobile gaming platform. We got our hands on one, and came away mostly impressed. First, it’s obviously great for taking games on the go, and it’s a good option for casual gamers to take the next step. It feels great in your hands, and has outstanding graphics and sound. It runs a full Android OS and has a touchscreen. One point against it is that there aren’t many games – less than 20 at the moment – but hopefully that will change. If you’re looking for a high-end hand-held gaming platform, you can find it at the NVIDIA site for $299.
