We headed on over to our friends at Richardson Bike Mart to take a test ride on the new Elliptigo. It’s what you’d get if an elliptical trainer married a bike, and they had a baby! This head turning ellipike… er, bitical… whatever it is – this thing offers a great aerobic workout.
The model I primarily tested was the Elliptigo 8C, the middle of the line model that features an 8 speed shifter, Shimano components and despite my uneducated claim that it felt like it weighed around 30 pounds – clocks in at 44 pounds for just under $2,500.
Elliptigo also offers 3 and 11 speed models in case you are after a more leisurely or more agressive stroll. Er, ride? I’m still not sure exactly what I was doing, but I will tell you that every single person who drove by had to stop and check it out.
It may not look like a Ferrari, but it turns heads just like one.
