Rotolight U.S. debuts Game Changing Rotolight Anova V2 at NAB 2014
NAB, Las Vegas – Rotolight & R.T.S. Inc. – Stand C-12029: Rotolight debuts the latest range of Gamechanging Rotolight ANOVA V2 Ecoflood LED Floodlights to the U.S Broadcast industry at NAB 2014. Featuring the latest in LED technology with enhanced colour rendering, overall CRI=95 and Skintone CRI=98 with up to 350% brighter output than previous models. Rotolight’s new ANOVA Bi Colour V2 is turning heads within the industry with a mass of accolades and awards including huge credits and testimonials from some of the most experienced DoP’s, lighting crew and photographers. Along with the latest Bi-Colour ANOVA models, Rotolight U.S are also delighted to be debuting a massive expansion to the ANOVA family of products, including the ANOVA SOLO Single Colour Flood lights available in 5600K (Daylight) or 3200K (Tungsten). The complete range of new ANOVA products are available in either ‘UltraWide’ 110 degree beam angle for a beautiful soft light or ‘Standard’ 50 degree beam angle for greater straight line output.
The latest EcoFlood range offers new alternatives to how you can work with light, the Rotolight ANOVA Bi-Colour V2 110º models are now being utilised on Coronation Street, the world’s longest running Soap. Chris Chisnall, head of lighting at ITV has over 20 years experience working on set and requires the very best lighting with excellent portability and beautiful soft lighting, he was not disappointed:
“What a fantastic piece of kit! I have to say I’ve fallen in love with these lights, quick to place around cameras, the Bi-Colour Anova’s make balancing easy being able to match the prevailing colour temperature perfectly without having to resort to a selection of gels. In addition, the ability to run off batteries, even in studio, make them a dream for fast rigging in awkward areas of the set where we would usually have to hide cables. These lights really speed up shooting for us and have become the fill lights of choice in the Rovers”. Chris Chisnall.
All ANOVA models in the range are Totally Flicker Free and have been extensively tested by the Phantom Flex highspeed camera at upto 7000FPS with no flicker detected at all due to the ANOVA’s “constant current dimming control system” ideal for high frame rate cinematography. Utilizing the latest LED technology, ANOVA has become the ‘go-to’ soft light source and can be easily integrated with conventional incandescent lights thanks to its best in class colour rendering and true flicker free output.
“I measured on my Sekonic colour meter early on and found it to be very neutral in terms of green/magenta cast”. It’s the go-to lamp for nearly every setup, the lamp’s colour is good enough there’s no need to think about it as a separate tool. DoP Dale Mccready, (Dr. Who, Atlantis, Merlin) on set of BBC’s award nominated Zombie Drama ‘In the Flesh’.
The ANOVA family is also the most Eco-Friendly system on the market delivering upto 3.9Kw tungsten equivalent output for just 41-Watt consumption, each ANOVA light can be powered by a standard V-Lock or Gold Mount battery for up to 4 hours making them ideal for location or ENG operation.
“I’ve realised, I’ve not actually plugged my ANOVA into the mains once, they are always battery powered” Dale McCready.
Having won at least 12 industry awards over the last 12 months, the Rotolight ANOVA’s feature set is sure to impress, having recently won “lighting product of the year” in the U.S and Cinegear’s ‘Technical Achievement award’ amongst many others. All ANOVA lights can be controlled by DMX or via WiFi from the Rotolight ‘Magic Eye HD’ App for iPhone or iPad, the worlds most advanced Lighting controller APP, enabling wireless control of brightness, colour temperature and settings.
“I chose to use 4 of the new bi-colour 50º Anova lights on a recent high profile music video. The Anovas were fantastic for setting up, the iPhone app was something I’ve never seen before, it was really quite simple to use and certainly shows the way all this technology is heading. When the lights are all set up on the same network (which they join automatically when the network name is set) – making setting up a shot in a hurry really easy!”. Ross Anderson DoP at Dustfarm.
