Scosche Launches RHYTHM+ Heart Rate Monitor

May 21, 2014 by Benjamin J. Roethig

Scosche has come to market with a new heart rate monitor it calls RHYTHM+. RHYTHM+ uses Bluetooth 4.0 smart for connection and the ANT+ protocol for health sensors. This allows it to work with most tracking apps including popular ones like Runkeeper. According to Scosche, the RHYTHM+ is more accurate than a conventional chest strap heart rate monitor. It is also IP-67 waterproof and rated up to 1m of water depth. Battery life on the RHYTHM+ is good for 8 hours.

The Scosche RHYTHM+ costs $79.99 and is available now.

Scosche launches RHYTHM+, Bluetooth Smart & ANT+ Compatible Armband Heart Rate Monitor

Low-profile monitor integrates with popular fitness apps like Map My Fitness, Runkeeper, Strava and more

OXNARD, Calif. – May 20, 2014 – Scosche is excited to announce the availability of RHYTHM +, an armband heart monitor that optically measures blood flow and movement to monitor heart rate and track calories burned more accurately than a conventional chest strap. The dual mode wireless configuration includes both Bluetooth Smart and ANT + capabilities, allowing RHYTHM+ to pair with smartphones, sport watches and exercise equipment (100 ft. range).

RHYTHM+ integrates with virtually any app that supports Bluetooth Smart heart rate data including Map my Fitness, Runkeeper and Strava. This allows customers to add heart rate monitoring to their existing health and fitness tracking plans.

“In order for a customer to adopt a new monitor into their fitness routine it has to deliver in two key areas, compatibility and comfort,” said Kas Alves Executive Vice President Scosche Industries. “RHYTHM+ does both, it works with Bluetooth Smart and ANT+ so it’s compatible with all the most popular fitness devices, and the comfortable armband is so lightweight users will forget they are wearing it during workouts.”

The low-profile monitor is made from a silicone and polycarbonate hybrid and is comfortably fastened to the forearm just below the elbow with a breathable neoprene arm-strap. IP67 waterproof construction protects RHYTHM+ from sweat or rain and allows the monitor to even be submerged up to 1 meter deep. A rechargeable lithium ion battery provides up to 8 hours of workout time.

RHYTHM+ is available now for $79.99 at http://www.scosche.com/rhythm+, www.underarmor.com, www.mapmyfitness.com, www.heartratemonitorsusa.com and www.clevertraining.com.
