Chromecast Expands to More Countries
Hey, congrats to all of you in Canada, the UK and Europe! You can now get Chromecast! I mean, you may not have cared, but if you did, yay!
Android Wear Has Designs on Your Wrist
Google ALSO announced Android Wear. They are… of course… getting into wearables. Because c’mon, who isn’t? Android Wear is a platform that will give you everything you love about Android on a watch, and Motorola and LG have come right out of the gate with a look at their watches running Android Wear. Get updates from Twitter and Google+. See your text messages. News. Even talk to it. Use the trusty “Ok Google” command to get whatever information you need at any time! It will essentially be your end all be all, at least Google hopes so. Unfortunately it can’t stop John P. from trying to sell my swimsuit photograph on Kickstarter, but a girl can dream, can’t she?
Take Your Best Selfies Ever with Samsung NX Mini
If you’re at all into selfies, Samsung just made your day with the NX Mini. It’s an ultra-portable camera aimed at the general market. People who take a lot of photos but don’t necessarily want to take photos to sell for example. It’s 20 megapixels and has a 1-inch sensor and measures at .88 inches thick. You can get three lenses for the Mini. A 9mm f/3.5 and a 9-27mm zoom lens will be available first. And later this spring a 17mm f/1.8 lens will be available. The best part? The monitor flips up and over so you can SEE what you’re shooting when grabbing a quick selfie to show the world how fab you are! It should be ready for purchase by April in white, brown, black, green and pink. Unfortunately at that time, the song “Selfie” will be out of style.
Kickstarter Project Brings Wireless Charging to iOS
Paul Dixon found a really cool Kickstarter project and posted it to the forums. It’s called Slimo, and it’s WAY past the desired goal already. It gives you wireless charging on your iPhone 5, iPad or iPod without having to wait until Apple decides to give it to you built in. It’s this super thin device that plugs into your charging port and sticks on the back of your phone. Then ignore wires and just set it on a charging station. Always charge without the hassle. Love it! You can get a receiver and transmitter combo for 39 pounds. They expect to ship by June.
