Revolve does the impossible in brining devices using different connection standards into a single interface. Now they’ve integrated their platform with IFTTT. If you’re not familiar with IFTTT, it stands for “If This Then That”. The service uses “recipes” to make different connected devices perform actions in sequence. The initial integration will be based on external web services, but expand from there.
Revolv Partners With IFTTT To Extend Its Capabilities With Web Services
Revolv Integration with IFTTT Will Enable Consumers to Create Personalized Recipes and Integrate their Smart Home with Popular Web Services like Facebook, Evernote and DropBox
Boulder, CO – September 17, 2014 – Revolv Inc., the smart home solution that unifies devices from one app, announced today its partnership with IFTTT (If This Then That), a web service that enables users to connect different applications together through simple conditional statements known as “Recipes”. IFTTT has become an increasingly popular way to program smart devices around ones home and lifestyle. The Revolv Channel on IFTTT will go live in the coming weeks.
“Since our inception, it’s been a driving goal of Revolv that we would not only unify off-the-shelf smart home devices on the market, but also give our users the power and control over their home they’ve long desired,” said Mike Soucie, Co-Founder at Revolv. “Many of the devices we work with like Philips Hue, Nest Learning Thermostat, and Nest Protect already have their own “Channels” on IFTTT, and we’re excited to add Revolv to create an even richer experience for consumers.”
Our initial integration with IFTTT will focus on recipes for external web services that trigger Revolv Actions. For example, when a consumer receives a call on his smartphone, he’ll be able to pause the SONOS music and turn on a Hue lights to a relaxing orange color. During our next phase of development, we’ll add recipes from the Revolv App.
“The Revolv Channel on IFTTT will open up valuable experiences for Revolv customers and we couldn’t be more excited to work with their team,” said Linden Tibbets, CEO at IFTTT.
