The PowerUp has Twin-lift, with a motor in each leg. The height range is 25.5 to 50.5 inches with a weight capacity of 300 pounds. There are three price points for this one: $899, $949, and $999. Safco Metro Extended Height Chair
Although the idea is to stand, there are going to be times when you’ll want to take a break and sit down. For those times, it’s nice to have a tall chair and the one we like is the Safco Metro Extended Height Chair, with an adjustable height of 23 to 33 inches. It’s $185 at Amazon.
The Ergotron WorkFit-D uses a non-powered-system to assist you in raising and lowering the height of the worktop. It has a minimum height of 30.6 inches and a maximum height of 50.6 and it’s priced at $699. There’s also an optional keyboard tray, the Neo-Flex Underdesk Keyboard Arm, to help you work in the most ergonomic position. It costs $129. Finally, for laptop users, there’s the WorkFit-P. It’s basically a computer shelf on an arm you can raise or lower to hold your portable computer. It will cost you $329.
VariDesk takes a different approach, allowing you to keep your existing desk. Rather than replacing the whole thing, the VariDesk sits on top of your desk and you raise or lower it by hand as you need. It can be a good way to test if a standing desk is right for you, and it makes a great monitor riser. The VariDesk Single holds a single monitor, while the larger Pro model can hold two displays.
