How to Install a Ubiquiti UniFi Wireless Mesh Network

October 24, 2013 by John P.

Most of us have experience with devices that are both routers and wireless access points. But those can lead to a lot of dead spots. The UniFi system from Ubquiti splits those duties and gives you a mesh network so you can strategically place access points where you need them, all using a single SSID.

You can read our full review of the UniFi system here. Meanwhile, here is a video that demonstrates how to install a Ubiquiti UniFi network:

    John,
I have been using ubiquiti UAPs in a large home and love the unifi software. However, I am having a horrendous UAPs failure rate. They are dropping off like flies. The company has been good at replacing under warranty but has not been willing to share root cause and how they will prevent future failures. I need help! I recommended this product to a huge client and currently I am looking like a clown! Do you have a contact at ubiquiti that could help me?

Hi John, we have been investigating this for creating an improved network when working on location, as in some instances 3G/4G LTE doesn’t cut it for creating a mobile broadcast.
Combine this with an AirFibre long range point-to-point remote access and this becomes extremely powerful.

We have just installed three of these in our office and they are amazing. So easy to setup and configure. Highly recommended.
